Design Build Fly Graphic

Design. Build. Fly.

Design Build Fly – UAEU is more than a challenge—it's a national initiative designed to develop students' practical engineering skills through innovation and teamwork. Participants engage in a real-world learning journey: from sketching and designing an aircraft, to building and flying it under real constraints. Whether you’re a university student, hobbyist, or future aerospace engineer, this is your chance to transform theory into flight.

About the Competition

Design Build Fly – UAEU is an applied academic competition that allows engineering students to implement their theoretical knowledge in real-world aircraft design. Organized in collaboration with Eco Adventure Tourism and local universities, the competition is built to simulate the full cycle of innovation—from concept to execution.

Each team is challenged to design, fabricate, and successfully fly a remote-controlled aircraft while meeting specific performance, technical, and presentation criteria. The event encourages creative thinking, sharpens technical skills, and strengthens cooperation between academia and industry.

What Makes This Competition Unique?

Design.

Students conceptualize their RC aircraft, including structure, aerodynamics, and systems, using CAD software or hand-drawn plans based on real constraints.

Build.

Teams construct working prototypes using selected materials and proper techniques to prepare for technical evaluation and flight tests.

Fly.

Aircrafts are flight-tested at a dedicated field in Al Ain, evaluated on stability, maneuverability, and completion of specific mission challenges.

Ready to Build and Fly?

Whether you're new to RC planes or have years of experience, Design Build Fly welcomes all who dare to defy gravity. This is more than a competition—it's a movement of creators, dreamers, and engineers building the future of flight.

Participating teams will receive access to official design guidelines, mentorship from experts, and a chance to showcase their projects in front of judges, spectators, and industry professionals. Build your future—one wing at a time.
